Gorgeous Salt Spring Island. Before moving to Bowen island, Anja Jane would visit this beautiful island as many as eight times a year! She resonated with the hippy spiritual community, and it was her first taste of the British Columbia island life. Her deep love for this place started with the beautiful community at the Salt Spring Centre of Yoga, started by the humble and loving Baba Hari Dass. Waking at sunrise and singing kirtan, her heart blossomed in bliss and love. To avoid ferry queues, Anja would bike and kayak; these modes are transport are her favourites. Wheeling kayaks on at Tsawwassen and launching from long Harbour is always so satisfying, and kayaking round to Wallace Island is such a treat. There are so many highlights: goats; mushrooms; farm stands; artisans; artists; dancing; warm, naked lake swimming; spiritually-enlightening moments; and beautiful, beautiful people.
